The Blue Line and your next home search
An announced transport connection deserves a place in your research. It should sit beside today’s commute, the actual walking route and the project’s delivery stage.
The official plan
RTA describes the Dubai Metro Blue Line as a 30-kilometre route with 14 stations, scheduled for completion in 2029. The published route connects areas including International City, Dubai Silicon Oasis and Academic City. This is a planned connection, not a statement that these stations are operating today.
Test two journeys
When comparing homes, make one journey plan for current transport and a separate one for the proposed future route. Test the present door-to-door commute during your working hours. Include walking, feeder transport, interchange time and the final distance to your workplace. A map distance to a station is not necessarily an accessible walking route.
Keep the household budget grounded
Compare rent or ownership costs with actual travel costs and the hours the journey takes. Check school trips, shift patterns and access for other household members. Treat any expected future convenience as a scenario. The announcement alone does not establish a property-price increase or a guaranteed investment return.
Questions for a viewing
Ask which station is being referenced and where the official route places it. Inspect the building’s present access and local construction conditions. Confirm the property’s current availability with the advertiser. If the purchase depends on a future opening, consider how a changed timetable would affect your plans.
